The Fig is the only tree known to man, that
Bears FRUIT before it bears LEAVES.
An atypical fig tree with leaves and no crop
It’s uncharacteristic of the tree.

Religion and custom observed from a distance
Appear to be bearing ‘good’ produce,
The Churches are
Packed, with the ‘assemblage’ on Sunday
Well dressed and pious in their suits.

I’d be VERY hard pressed
Not to call them, ‘fruit bearers’
Observing them simply by site,
Akin to a fig tree
Noticed from a distance
Up close you can see who’s not right.

The Lord Jesus, cursed a fig tree
For this very same reason
Deceiving the eyes,
And not bearing the fruit.

Matthew 21: 19
“And when He saw a fig tree in the way,
He came to it, and found nothing thereon,
but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit
grow on thee hence forward for ever.
And presently the fig tree withered away.”
