When God “speaks,” the words reveal His glory. His voice brightens the pages of the Tanakh/Old Testament; when He (YHWH) ‘speaks,’ He is identified as: “God,” the “LORD,” the “LORD God,” “the angel of the LORD,” “Lord GOD,” and “the angel of God.” HE is: the “I AM!”
The Torah (the five books of the law) was originally written in one volume; it is both historical and legislative. It covers the history of the formation of a great nation (Israel). The names of the “five” books: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, were adopted from the Hebrew to Greek translated Bible called: the “Pentateuch.” The titles of these books are from the first verse of each book.
With the authority of King James, forty seven English scholars converted the Masoretic text (Old Testament), into English. The Hebrew Bible was reprinted from the Masoretic text. The ancient Hebrew language had only the consonants printed, and the vowels were vocalized in pronunciation, but were not written. In order to clarify word meanings and phrases the King James translators added certain words to the Old and New Testament text, these additional words are recognized by italics.
“After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.” Genesis 15:1
The Holy Bible ‘is’ the inspired WORD of God; written (primarily) by His chosen people ‘Israel’ (the Jews). The ‘Creation’ account was given to Moses by God. No man could have been an ‘eye’ witness to the creation of the world or anything in the world. The Bible [IS] God breathed.
Hear, O Israel: The LORD (YHWH) our God (Elohim) is one (echad) LORD (YHWH) Deuteronomy 6:4.
Elohim (God): is the Hebrew word meaning strength/power.
The KJV translates YHWH as Jehovah or as LORD (capital letters). Note: the word Jehovah does not appear in the Hebrew text, YHWH is pronounced “Yahweh.”
(YHWH (I AM) is the Hebrew word meaning “He is” or “He exists.”)
Adnoai (Hebrew) means “Lord.”
God IS: the Father (Spirit), the Word (Son, Incarnate Christ Jesus) and, the Holy Spirit (our teacher, comforter).
Yachid: Hebrew word to communicate an ‘absolute singularity’ (one). This word (yachid) is used in scriptures such as: Genesis 22:2. “And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.”
